The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit Cumbria
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are visiting Cumbria today.
The royal couple have been in Keswick to meet community volunteers and members of the public in the town centre.
Their Royal Highnesses will then be given a tour of a sheep farm in the Lake District with the opportunity to speak to farmers discussing the challenges that they face.
William and Kate will hear about the peer support networks helping those in rural areas.
The Duke and Duchess will participate in activities on the farm such as sheep shearing.
In the UK farming remains one of our country’s most hazardous industries, accounting for 1.5% of workers but 15-20% of all worker fatalities according to the HSE.
Farm Safety Foundation are an award-winning charity and dedicated to raising awareness of farm safety among young farmers.
