Armed robbers target city centre jewellers
A section of a city centre street in Carlisle is currently cordoned off after two armed robbers wearing balaclavas targeted a jewellers.
It's the second time in two months that the St Nicholas Galleries on Bank Street has been robbed.
During the incident, a man who works in the shop was assaulted.
The robbers are believed to have used a cricket bat.
A third person was involved but remained outside in a blue Ford Fiesta, registration FM66 RYB. It was later found abandoned in the Chiswick Street area.
Several police vehicles and paramedics remain on the scene.
