Journey of two cars 'central' to finding body of Emma Faulds
Officers are focusing on the area around the A714 road in effort to find the body of a 'murdered' woman.
39-year-old Emma Faulds was last seen at Fairfield Park in Monkton, Ayrshire, on Sunday 28 April. A man has been charged with her murder.
Police believe two black cars, on the the Girvan to Newton Stewart route, are central to the investigation and may be the key to finding the youth worker's body.
Detectives want to trace the journeys of a black Mercedes on 29 April and a black Jaguar travelling the following day.
They are appealing for dashcam footage which drivers can upload on a website.
The force helicopter is set to be dispatched today to to map the area.
A 39-year-old man has been accused of murdering Ms Faulds and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
A private hearing was held last week at Ayr Sheriff Court, where he made no plea or declaration.
The man was remanded in custody and will appear in court at a later date.
DCI Fergus said Ms Fauld's family were going through "unimaginable" pain while they waited for answers.
