New busking guidelines introduced
New busking guidelines have been introduced in Cumbria.
'Keep Streets Live' campaign group have worked together with Cumbria Police, Carlisle City Council to create a guide.
The guidelines will support residents, businesses and performers, ensuring buskers play at designated sites that are suitable for both musicians and the public.
What is busking?
Busking is the act of performing music, dance, street theatre or art in a public space for monetary donations.
In Carlisle no licence is required to busk unless you are raising money for a charity, in which case you must hold a valid charity collection permit.
