Man in his 70s airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on A69
Cumbria Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was hit by a car on the A69.
The pedestrian was hit at the junction of the Old Chapel Road at Warwick- on-Eden
It happened at around 7.30pm on Saturday 27 April.
Air ambulance was called to the scene and the man in his 70s, who is believe to be from Carlisle, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
A 73-year-old man is currently in police custody. He has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident.
Police believe there may be people who witnessed the collision who have yet to get in touch.
Officers are urging anyone who did see what happened to contact police. They're also also keen to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage which may have captured the collision or the moments immediately before or after.
