One of Scotland’s most famous motorsport events is to make a comeback after a five year absence.

The Jim Clark Memorial Rally is set to return to Berwickshire on the 8 and 9 November 2019, following the passing of a new regulations by the Scottish Government to allow closed-road motorsport in Scotland.

Organisers will be able to apply for a permit in order to hold an event on closed public roads. The famous Borders event has not run since 2014 after the death of three spectators who were hit by a car.

It was originally hoped that the rally would take place at the end of May, but organisers chose to reschedule after other motorsports events around the UK clashed with the date.

Fans can now look forward to its return at the beginning of November.

The rally is named after the double Formula One champion Jim Clark, considered to be one of Scotland's greatest sportsmen.
