Victory for Longtown's Lauren Smith

Lauren Smith and her doubles partner Chloe Birch secured the women's doubles National Badminton Title over the weekend.

The pair won the title with a 21-18 21-13, at the Everyone Active English Nationals, over Jenny Moore and returning 2018 champion Jess Pugh.

It's the seventh back to back title in Women’s Doubles for Smith and the eighth title of her career.

Born in Longtown, Cumbria, Lauren has not been beaten since 2013 after her first win with partner at the time Gabby Adcock.
