Children in homes with domestic abuse should be 'recognised as victims'
The charity NSPCC says children living in homes with domestic abuse going on should be classed as victims under law.
The children's charity believes the government are failing to protect children from the effects domestic abuse can have on their up-bringing.
They are urging the government to publish its Domestic Violence and Abuse White Paper and recognise young children as victims in its domestic abuse laws.
If children were given legal recognition as victims of domestic abuse, they would be more protected, the NSPCC says.
They say legal protection would help young people effected to have access to specific services to help overcome trauma they have experienced.
