Petition to ban 4x4's from Lake District track reaches 230,000 signatures
More than 230,000 people have signed a petition to ban vehicles from an area in the Lake District.
The Tilberthwaite Track is popular with 4x4s and motorbikes in the Little Langdale area - but campaigners say it's being ruined by the traffic and a ban should be put in place.
The route is currently closed to vehicles for repair work which the Lake District National Park Authority says is mainly due to storm damage.
A decision on whether or not to introduce a traffic regulation order will be made next October.
The route is temporarily closed to vehicles and won't reopen until at least January to allow repair works to be completed, before a decision on the traffic regulation order is made next October.
