Match-day tribute to Carlisle-born football legend
Fans will pay tribute to Carlisle-born football great Kevin Beattie before Ipswich Town's game with Brentford tonight.
The 64-year-old former England international died at the weekend after suffering a suspected heart-attack.
Beattie, who grew up in the Botcherby area of Carlisle, was a key member of the decorated Ipswich Town side of the late 1970s and early 1980s that won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup under manager Bobby Robson.
A minute's applause is being held ahead of tonight's match at Portman Road to honour the man widely regarded as Ipswich's greatest ever player.
