Findings into failure of £17m D&G leisure centre revealed
The results of an inquiry into the multiple failings at the DG One Leisure centre in Dumfries have been revealed.
The centre opened a decade ago but shut six years later for major repair works, and is still to be reopened.
An inquiry was set up after the discovery of significant building safety concerns and construction failures.
The repairs to the DG One Leisure centre will cost £19.3 million, £2 million more than it cost to build.
The key findings from the report showed that there were major failings at all levels from the contractors, and the quality of the build was unacceptable.
There were defects in buildings fire-proofing and defects to masonry walls.
