NHS D&G needs to make savings of £17 million

NHS Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary needs more than £17 million to balance its finances.

The announcement comes after a board meeting on Monday 9 April to approve its financial plan for 2018/19.

The meeting revealed £17.346 million needs to be secured for the hospital to remain in financial balance.

A request for an extra £4.5 million has been made to the Scottish Government.

The projected financial budget for NHS Dumfries and Galloway is £365 million.
