'Inexperienced youngsters' helped by mountain rescue
A group of "relatively inexperienced youngsters" from East Anglia have been rescued, after running into trouble on Helvellyn in the Lake District.
The group of five arrived at the summit shelter at around 5pm on Saturday 10 March, where they decided to put up a tent to try and warm up one of the group, who had become cold and wet.
However, they all began to suffer with the cold, and at around 8:40pm they called for help.
Sixteen members of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team reached them a couple of hours later with dry clothing and food, and then escorted the group back down.
The team has urged people to take care on the fells, which still have winter conditions.
