Man appears in court charged with Carrutherstown murder
A 35-year-old man from Dumfries has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman and the attempted murder of a man in Carrutherstown, near Dumfries.
Beverley Bliss, 52, was found dead at her home three days before Christmas while a 47-year-old friend, Gavin Robertson, was found nearby with injuries and taken to hospital.
In the court at Dumfries, James Standing made his appearance in private before Sheriff George Jamieson on a petition containing the charges.
A statement released on behalf of the procurator fiscal read that: “No plea was made and he was remanded in custody. His appearance at a future date is to be confirmed."
