Wheelchair pensioner in 'terrifying' robbery incident
Two men from Egremont have been arrested after stealing an elderly woman's jewellery from around her neck, causing her to fall out of her wheelchair.
It happened at the woman's home in the town on Whitegate at 9.25pm yesterday morning.
The two offenders knocked on the door and entered the property, demanding money from the 81-year-old woman before snatching a gold chain from her neck.
The woman fell out of her wheelchair as the men ran off, causing her minor injuries.
The men, aged 23 and 22, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and are detained for questioning.
