Dementia dancers appeal for more members

A Cumbrian support group that encourages people with dementia to stay active through dance, is appealing for more members.

The team at Dancing Recall say the combination of music and movement is good for both body and mind.

It can also help to trigger memories, while providing a social environment for people living with dementia.

The programme, which has won an NHS award, runs sessions from Currock Community Centre in Carlisle, and works closely with Amy's Care, a social club for older people with a presence in Keswick, Carlisle and Ireby.

If you know someone living with dementia, the following websites can provide further information about the condition, and the support available.
