SUNDAY DAY:

Isolated freezing fog patches may linger in the Border glens. Otherwise, a dry and very cold day with long bright or sunny spells and light winds. Temperatures inland will struggle to rise much above freezing. Highs 2°C.

OVERNIGHT:

A mainly dry and clear night with a widespread frost. Scattered light wintry showers will develop late in the night with a chance of icy patches. Low -5°C.

MONDAY:

An icy start for morning commuters. Mainly dry with sunny spells although a few light wintry showers are possible at first. Feeling bitterly cold again with light winds. Highs 4°C.

OUTLOOK:

Mainly dry and bright on Tuesday. Turning more unsettled from Tuesday night onwards with bands of rain spreading east, falling as snow on high ground. Remaining cold.
