A new whisky has been launched in honour of Scottish rugby legend, Doddie Weirs, battle with MND.

Annandale Distillery's peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 'Man o' Sword' was originally inspired by the courage and strength of King Robert the Bruce - Scotland's Warrior King and 7th Earl of Annandale.

On December 1 2014, Doddie Weir filled the very first cask of the peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Three years on, 99 bottles were filled to mark the 99 years since Annandale Distillery last produced Scotch Whisky.

Inspired by the courage and strength of Weir since his Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis, Annandale Distillery will release all 99 of the bottles to raise money.

The offer is expected to attract serious whisky collectors and Scottish rugby fans.
