Six British men, who have been trapped in India since October 2013, are expecting to hear a judgement that could free them in the next fortnight.

The so-called Chennai Six were arrested while working as anti-piracy guards, and charged with weapons offences, but say they had the correct paperwork issued by the British government.

The group, including former soldier John Armstrong from Wigton, are serving a five year prison term, but lodged an appeal in November 2016.

They are still waiting for a verdict on that appeal, but John's sister, Joanne, who is visiting him, told ITV Border a Supreme Court judge has instructed the High Court to issue the verdict in the next 14 days.
