Cumbria Police praised for reducing crime

Cumbria Police have been praised by the independent watchdog for their efficiency at reducing crime and keeping people safe.

The annual report from HMIC says the force has realistic plans in place, to ensure it can continue to provide effective policing, even with a reduced budget.

As part of its annual PEEL inspection, HMICFRS’s Efficiency programme looked at how a force makes the most of its resources.

It also reviewed the wider questions of cost, capacity and capability.
