Power restored after 5,000 homes blackout in Cumbria
Power has been restored to homes across Cumbria overnight, after 5,000 properties were affected late yesterday.
Faults were reported in the St Bees, Egremont, Cockermouth and Workington areas, at around 6.45pm.
There were 1,200 affected in the St Bees and Braystones area alone.
Around 112 homes across the county are still without power.
The faults are believed to have been caused by overhead cable problems, following the high winds brought by ex Storm Ophelia overnight on Monday.
