Hundreds take part in Cumbrian Run

The 35th Great Cumbrian Run has taken place in Carlisle on Sunday morning.

The 13.1 mile half-marathon started at Carlisle Castle, crossed Castle Way and headed through Carlisle city centre before heading out into the countryside and through the picturesque villages of Cumwhinton, Wetheral and Scotby.

Wheelchair racer Stuart Bloor from Manchester crossed the line first telling ITV Border "I really enjoyed the course, its been a brilliant day."

The first runner was Mark Brown from Whitehaven crossed the finishing line in first place in 1 hr 9 mins.

He was followed by Alasdair Campbell in second place, and Jonny Cox in third.

Alison Matthews was the first female to finish in a time of 1 hr 28 minutes.
