Science star Brian Cox to headline Cumbrian festival

TV personality Professor Brian Cox will headline a "ground breaking" science festival in Cumbria today.

The Infinity Festival, in Egremont, aims to inspire the next generation of scientists, and targets 13 and 14 year olds in the county.

It will include motivating talks, as well as hands-on experiments and workshops by leading figures in the worlds of science, technology and engineering.

Professor Brian Cox, a physicist who is known for presenting a number of TV programmes, will headline the first ever festival.

Other speakers include experts in the fields of robots, insects, crime mapping, aircraft design and nuclear reactors.
