Whitehaven Rugby League player - coach Carl Forster has been named 2017 League One Coach of the Year.

In his first year in charge of the club, Forster beat off competition from York's James Ford and Barrow's Paul Crowley to win the award at a ceremony in Manchester last night.

Whitehaven take on York in their League One semi-final play off next Sunday.
