New parents in Scotland to receive baby boxes

From next week all new parents in Scotland will get a baby box that has a variety of essential items for new born babies.

The Scottish Government initiative has been inspired by a similar scheme in Finland.

The baby box includes around 40 items and the box itself can be made into a cot.

It is forecast to cost more than £35m in the first four years.
