Mountain rescue volunteers with the Tweed Valley team have responded to three emergencies in the last three days.

The team was called on Friday 28 July, to an injured mountain biker at Glentress. 12 members responded, the first arriving within 25 minutes of the incident.

On Saturday, the team were called to help a man on holiday from Belgium, who had broken his ankle in the Pentland Hills.

The helicopter was unable to land because of the weather, so the man was carried on stretcher down from the summit until the Coastguard from Prestwick arrived.

The team was called on Sunday 30 July for the third day in a row to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service with a man who had fallen over in Rosslyn Glen and had a suspected lower leg fracture.

The casualty was in a rather difficult place, just a short way downriver from the famous Rosslyn Chapel.

The Coastguard helicopter arrived on scene and dropped down a crew member and picked up the casualty, whisking him off to hospital.
