The Electric Fields Festival - due to take place in the grounds of the stunning Drumlanrig Castle in September - has received a funding boost.

It is among 14 events taking place across the country which are benefitting from a share of £145,500 in the latest awards round of EventScotland’s National Funding Programme.

The Electric Fields Festival returns for its fourth year on September 1st and 2nd, with Dizzee Rascal included in the line-up of more than 100 artists across the four stages in the stunning grounds of Drumlanrig Castle.

As well as the exciting music on offer, there is plenty of entertainment for children with games, face painting, crafts and dedicated kids discos.

The event has been awarded £11,500 from EventScotland, a team within VisitScotland’s Events Directorate, to support social media and marketing costs.

Festival organiser Nick Roberts said: “We are delighted to have received funding from EventScotland which will help us ensure that this year’s Electric Fields Festival is our best ever. We hope as many people as possible will be able to come along to enjoy all of the great entertainments we have planned at our beautiful venue.”

VisitScotland Regional Director Paula Ward said: “This year’s Electric Fields Festival promises to be a real highlight of our regional calendar, with some fantastic music and entertainment on offer for all of the family, so I’m delighted it was selected as a funding award recipient."
