Annandale and Eskdale golf club gets accredited

The Powfoot Golf Club has become the latest sports club in Annandale and Eskdale to gain accreditation by the Sports Club Accreditation Scheme.

The Sports Club Accreditation Scheme is aimed at supporting clubs to improve the opportunities they provide.

It also proves that clubs have achieved the nationally recognised minimum criteria in governance, child protection, welfare, equity, first aid and other key areas, in order to operate a safe environment for their members to play sport.

Officials from the club received their certificate on the 17th of July. In the photo above, they are (from left to right) Billy McCulloch (Captain), Colin Shields (Junior Coach), Karen Pearson (Lady Captain and Junior Coach), Aitken Walker (Junior Coach) and Steven Gardner (Club Manager).
