Parents and pupils in a village in Dumfries and Galloway have pledged to fight against the possible closure of their school.
Garlieston is one of three rural primary schools in the region which could be closed as early as next year.
Rural schools in Ae and Kirkbean are also facing closure.
On Thursday, councillors will be asked to agree to carry out a full consultation to consider whether the schools have a future, or whether their doors should be shut for good.
