Nearly half a million people are expected to take part in a summer cycling event in the north-west of the country from Saturday, 10 June.

Bike week is said to involve biking events with a twist of fun, including family friendly traffic-free rides, bike breakfasts, and naked bike rides.

It will take place until Sunday, 18 June. The week aims to encourage more people to ride their bikes, as well as help make cycling more accessible.

Bike week is run and supported by Cycling UK, Halfords and Cycling Scotland. Participants can get a free bike check.
