Biker dies after A66 crash in Cumbria

A motorcyclist has died, after a crash on the A66 road in Cumbria.

The accident happened at around 4:35pm on Tuesday 6 June, on the westbound carriageway just before Stainmore Cafe.

The victim, who is from the north east, was riding a yellow BMW motorbike and was one of three bikers travelling west, however his was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Paramedics from the air ambulance were sent to treat the man, but he died.

The victim's family have been informed, but he has not been named.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 101.
