Police renew appeal after 'tragic' Sanquhar crash

Police have issued a further appeal for witnesses after a "tragic" crash in Dumfries and Galloway, in which two people died.

At around 1:15pm yesterday, a black Land Rover Freelander was involved in a collision with a Harley Davidson motorcycle on the A76 around a mile north of Sanquhar, near the road leading to Kellofoot Cottages.The 58-year-old male rider and the 56-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle were killed as a result of the crash.

The road was closed for nearly eight hours, and the investigation is continuing.
