Two killed after crash near Sanquhar

A man and a woman have died, after a crash on the A76 road near Sanquhar in Dumfries and Galloway.

At around 1:15pm this afternoon, police were called to a collision involving two vehicles.

Emergency services attended, however both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The A76 is currently closed one mile north of Sanquhar, and diversions are in place.

Police say a full investigation into the cause of the crash will take place, and are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Road Policing Officers at Lockerbie by calling 101.
