Walker injured after 30 foot fall in Lake District
A female walker has had to be rescued after she fell 30 feet from Striding Edge in the Helvellyn range on Sunday afternoon.
The lady suffered multiple injuries to her head, face, chest, abdomen, shoulder and arm.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called by Cumbria Police at 12:20pm to assist with the recovery.
Caernarfon Coastguard helicopter and North West Air Ambulance were also dispatched to the scene.
The casualty was treated on scene before being winched into the Coastguard Rescue helicopter and taken to Patterdale Playing Field for transfer to the Air Ambulance and onward to hospital.
The incident was attended by eight Patterdale and 12 Penrith team members and lasted three hours.
