Drivers and railway passengers are being warned of busy roads, and railway delays, over the bank holiday weekend.

More than 10 million leisure journeys are expected on Britain's roads between Friday and Monday as motorists embark on a getaway for the May Day bank holiday.

Rail passengers are being urged to check for timetable changes as a number of Lines will be closed for engineering work.

These include the line between Carlisle, and Glasgow Central and Edinburgh.

No trains operated by Virgin and TransPennine Express will be running, and replacement buses will operate over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
