St Bees School to hold open day ahead of reopening
An open day is taking place at St Bees School in Cumbria, for people who want to find out more about plans to reopen the school.
It was announced that St Bees would close in April 2015, because of falling pupil numbers.
A campaign to save the school was launched, however pupils left for the final time in July 2015.
The boarding school was founded in 1583 by Edmund Grindal, the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Famous alumni include the actor Rowan Atkinson, and former England rugby union head coach Stuart Lancaster.
The school has been saved thanks to a partnership being formed between the new board of trustees, and a Chinese educational group.
Shenzhen International, also known as Full Circle, runs a college in the Shenzhen province of China, which offers UK qualifications.
The school will reopen in September 2018.
