Drivers in D&G see highest rise in annual car insurance
Drivers in Scotland pay higher car insurance premiums every year, than anywhere else in the UK, according to insurance website, Confused.com.
In Dumfries and Galloway, drivers that paid the average premium of £500 in the last quarter of 2016, are now paying and average of £563.
This means there is a quarterly increase of 13%.
This steep rise means, on average, drivers in this region are paying an extra £102 for their premiums.
Drivers in the Scottish Borders pay and average of £547, the lowest average premium in the UK. This is despite an annual rise of 19% (£88).
That means drivers in this region can expect to pay £713 less on average, compared to motorists in inner London who fork out an average of £1,260 per year.
