Historic Borders castle receives £150,000 in funding
A historic venue in the Borders has received £150,000 in funding to restore parts of the building.
Thirlestane Castle in Lauder received the funding, as part of a rural development project by the Scottish Government and the European Community Scottish Borders, called LEADER.
The money is also planned to go towards a new self-catered apartment, restored dining spaces and to cover events.
Trustees and management of Thirlestane Castle say they hope it will become a "Gateway to the Borders", providing accommodation, events space and corporate facilities.
