A new play about William Wordsworth has had its world premiere in Keswick.

Many of us know of his fame as a poet, but far less is known about the struggles he had to endure before becoming a huge success.

The play - called William Wordsworth - has been commissioned by Theatre by the Lake.

The actresses don't just wear Georgian costume - they also wear corsets.

Emma Pallant, who plays Wordsworth's sister Dorothy, says this helps her get in character.

Around 60 per cent of summer audiences at the Theatre by the Lake are tourists, the rest are local.

That changes to 60 per cent local during the winter months.

The Theatre by the Lake thinks there's more of a demand for theatre about the local area, so we might be seeing more stories of Cumbrian heritage in the future.
