Four charged after burglary 'hammer attack'
Four people have been charged after an aggravated burglary at a property in Carlisle.
Police say on Saturday afternoon (1 April) offenders forced their way into a home on Bower Street, and one of them attacked the occupants with a hammer.
One of the victims was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary with a serious head injury.
The following people have now been charged:
Mark Malloy, 23, of Dalton Avenue, Carlisle, has been charged with aggravated burglary, possession of an offensive weapon and affray
Kayleigh Wright, 31, of Raffles Avenue, Carlisle, has been charged with aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon
Craig McIntosh, 33, of Raffles Avenue, Carlisle, has been charged with aggravated burglary
Joe Malloy, 26, of Dalton Avenue, Carlisle, has been charged with affray and resisting arrest
All are scheduled to appear before North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court today (3 April).
