Network Rail work to disrupt train services over Easter
Cumbrians hoping for an Easter getaway by train could find their plans disrupted, as Network Rail announced it is carrying out engineering projects over the bank holiday weekend.
More than 200 projects will be carried out, disrupting services in Cumbria and the south of Scotland, as well as London, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
There will be no services from Carlisle to and from Glasgow Central or Edinburgh from April 15 to 17.
Network Rail said it is carrying out the work over Easter as fewer passengers use the railways during that period.
