St Aidan's Church Carlisle back after the floods
St Aidan's Church in Carlisle has held a special service to mark the completion of refurbishment works following the floods of December 2015.
The Church was flooded when Storm Desmond brought destruction to much of the county.
The church has held some services during the works but today's was the first proper service.
A hold up in the delivery of new furniture delayed the return of parishioners after floodwater completely destroyed the wooden pews.
Today's was a special service to commemorate the end of a tough time for the area.
While the church was shut, people went to St Cuthbert's Church. This morning the two congregations came together to celebrate while remembering not everyone has recovered from the floods.
Many of the congregation's homes were also flooded during Storm Desmond including one parishioner who's had plenty to celebrate this weekend.
