Teenagers admit post office robbery
Two teenagers have admitted being involved in a knifepoint robbery at a Cumbrian post office.
Reece Kirk, 19, and a 17-year-old male who can't be identified because of his age, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today.
Both admitted robbing a staff member at Ravenglass Post Office of cash on January 11.
The court heard a "drug debt" prompted Kirk to carry out a crime which was reported to police at 10:20am on that day. He accepted possessing a knife during what he claimed had been a "joint enterprise".
Police announced at the time of the offence that the post office employee was threatened but stated that nobody had been hurt.
Judge Peter Davies adjourned the case. Kirk, of Murrayfield Terrace, Ravenglass, was remanded in custody and the youth was granted conditional bail.
Both are due to be sentenced at the crown court on April 21.
