Cumbria Police are urging people who have experienced domestic abuse to contact them, and have promised to provide the help and support that they need to recover.
More than 7,000 domestic abuse incidents have been reported in the county this year, and it's feared as many as 2,000 cases could go unreported every year.
The police are urging people to contact them in person, or by calling them on 101.
