Windermere's Fell Foot park to get new sports facility

Fell Foot park in Windermere is getting a new sports facility thanks to a £500,000 investment by Sport England.

The facility is part of a £1.9million development to the site owned by the National Trust.

Other improvements include:

  • Restoration of the 19th century boathouses

  • A new café

  • Landscaping the historic garden area

  • A small "glamping" area

The new sports facility will include a communal space, changing rooms, showers and meeting rooms.

Along with being a base for the Windermere Rowing Club and Windermere Sailing Club.

Visitors can also take part in "taster" sessions for various activities.

Fell Foot say the park will be open as usual over winter and fully open from Easter.

The new facilities will be opening October 2017.
