Carlisle United scrap new stadium plans

Carlisle United has confirmed that plans to build a new stadium in the city have been shelved.

The club's agreement with Caldew Riverside Developments Ltd, which regarded a plot of land 'close to the city centre', has now expired.

The agreement dates from April 2014 and was extended in October 2015 for a further year.
