Cumbria Police hunt 'missing' prisoner

Police are hunting a prisoner they believe may have escaped from a prison in Cumbria.

Dean Walker is currently "unaccounted for" within HMP Haverigg, Cumbria Police said, and officers and prison staff have been searching for him since he was reported missing within the grounds at 11.25am on Friday.

The 32-year-old, who is from Manchester and is serving a sentence for robbery, is described as being black, with brown eyes and shaved black hair.

The prison, on the site of an old RAF training centre near the village of Millom, holds around 650 category C and D male prisoners.

Anyone who sees Walker is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
