First look at Whitesands flood defence plans

ITV Border has been given a unique first look at the flood defence plans for the Whitesands.

The proposed £20million scheme can be viewed via virtual-reality headset.

A 3D exhibition of the plans will go on display to the public at St George's Hall in Dumfries from Thursday 3rd November until the 5th November.

The images show detail of the scheme's planned raised-walkway and glass wall along the River Nith.

The design still needs to be approved by councillors and it'll be another two years before work is likely to begin.
