People in Dumfries and Galloway are being urged to get clued up on the warning signs of suicide.

This week (5-11 September) is Suicide Prevention Week so the Choose Life is urging people to 'Read Between the Lines' if they think family or friends might be showing signs of suicidal behaviour.

According to Choose Life, Scotland's national programme for mental health and wellbeing, 14 people took their own lives in Dumfries and Galloway last year.

Choose Life say the campaign targets men and women who are likely to be in greatest contact with people most at risk of suicide - men aged 30-59.
