Maryport lifeboat team appeal for life-saving volunteers
A Cumbrian lifeboat team is putting out an urgent appeal for new volunteers to help them in their life saving work.
Maryport Inshore Rescue are looking for at least five new members to continue protecting west coast communities.
The team are particularly keen to find people who live near the town and who are available to attend call outs during office hours, when many people are busy working.
Crewed entirely by volunteers, the team don't just deal with casualties and distress calls at sea - they were called to help flood victims in 2009 and worked for five days straight during Storm Desmond to rescue people trapped in their homes.
